Yesterday a Russian TV channel NTV covered  Russian Expo Arms 2006 in Nizhny Tagil demonstrating a UAV to be used by the Air Centre of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for providing security at the G8 summit  in St. Petersburg. The UAV was developed by A-Level Aerosystems company,  Izhevsk.

The officials of the company informed that 2 days ago in St. Petersburg this UAV was used for a training exercise for the pilots of the Air Centre of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The system based on the aeroplane type UAV ZALA 421-04 is to be used for the autonomous distant ground mapping from the altitude 100-700m with the range up to 40 km and the endurance of 3 hours with possible data taking and transmitting as well as  video recording at the altitude up to 3000m.

The real time video from the UAV is transmitted to the large plasma-panel displays at the range. The ground control station demonstrates that the UAV control system is very easy and convenient to operate even for an inexperienced user. A-Level Aerosystems is performing everyday flights demonstrating the UAV and ground control station’s capacity.
