Automatic Control System (autopilot)

Automatic Control System (autopilot)

A-Level Aerosystems is a developer of compact autopilots for different unmanned aerial vehicles. Weighing only 22.8 grams (including all sensors) this autopilot developed by A-Level Aerosystems’ qualified experts is one of the lightest in the world. Using the autopilot of such small weight one can have UAV weighing less than 1.5 kg.
The automatic control system is a complex of software, sensor package and electronics that provides for the vehicle’s stabilization on the flight path, the flight altitude stabilization, the aerial vehicle’s maneuvers and the UAV’s setting in forward flight.

The autopilot primarily developed for civil and military UAV’s control and navigation from their takeoff till landing serves for determining coordinates, angles of orientation and trajectory parameters of moving objects. The autopilot has integrated data concentrator (black box) with 10 hours recording time. It is a very useful feature for further flight data analysis in laboratory conditions. The autopilot enables reprogramming the mission in flight, for example, changing preprogrammed altitude, speed, and waypoints. The landing point can be changed by the pilot during the flight. It can also differ from the takeoff point. In case of data communication break, the vehicle returns to the primarily indicated point. The autopilot’s routines include S-turn, figure-eight, circle, etc. Enhanced control of different payloads is the autopilot’s performance capability that should be outlined separately. The autopilot can be used as a gyrostabilized platform sensor. It supports different radiomodem types to transfer data and control commands through the radio channel.

Special attention shall be paid to the autopilot user interface. The UAV’s control software has user friendly interface and enables to control the autopilot parameters using both a keyboard and a joystick. A touch screen is another option that provides convenient use of A-Level Aerosystems’ autopilot interface.

Flight tests of the autopilot installed in A-Level Aerosystems’ UAVs held at the moment shows its high quality.

Distinctive features of the A-Level Aerosystems autopilot are:
