ZALA – HeliSys for manned VTOL aviation
|
The latest development in ZALA – HeliSys for the manned VTOL aviation. The R&D project is aimed at integrating the current and future small to medium sized UAVs into manned aviation. Currently aviation tests are being carried out on VTOLs using Mi-8 but future tests are planned onboard other VTOLs including the renowned KA-52. System will now not only integrate the ZALA 421-08 but payload capacity of UAV hub has been increased to also include the ZALA 421-04M. Each hub is set into transportation case that will contain between 5 to 10 UAVs which can then be easily fitted into any airborne vessel. Control of the UAVs will be handed over to the manned aircraft which will choose which UAVs to deploy, to which sector and set a mission target.
HeliSys is a hub that will be attached to any VTOL manned vehicle that will have the ability to launch up to ten UAVs simultaneously and programme a set mission. UAVs integration allows the VTOL operator to scan a much larger areas and stay safe in moments of risk by using UAVs as scouts.
Main tasks of ZALA-HeliSys include:
- Investigation and inspection of the necessary sector or a square
- Gathering and a transmission of information in a cabin of the pilot
- Relaying online information from edge UAV to command point
- “One way” defeat of the purposes (specially, only if necessary)
ZALA AERO is continuing contract discussions with multiple parties and aims to unveil the chosen partner to conclude the development by October 2010.
